Engineering has been an integral part of UC Berkeley since the University was chartered in 1898, when disciplines focused on mechanics, mining, and civil engineering. Today, staff engineers work with faculty and students in areas from earthquake science and robotics to cybersecurity and synthetic biology.
There are three areas that comprise the field of Engineering:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Research and Development Engineering
- Structural Engineering
