It's
hard to find one word that describes Berkeley. We're a community
of people working towards a common vision. A community that combines
more than 150 years of history and tradition with future-shaping
innovation. Our co-workers come from almost every nation, every
culture, every background imaginable. So no matter what your job
is, you'll experience a richness and variety of experience here
that you simply won't find anywhere else. We at Berkeley are deeply
committed to recognizing the value of each individual in our community
as well as sustaining a safe, caring, humane environment.
Every
campus department has its own special character, too. When you work
at Berkeley you'll have access to a big, complex, interesting University
world. You'll also have a close community of co-workers, collaboration,
and a sense of belonging. Find out more about UC Berkeley's history.

Location
Location Location
UC Berkeley is in the San
Francisco Bay Area — a place where all the best things in life
come together. Living here gives you easy access to some of the
most beautiful nature areas in the country — Point
Reyes National Seashore, Mount Tamalpais, the Golden
Gate National Recreation Area. You're within easy driving distance
of Lake Tahoe, or of Santa Cruz, Monterey, and points south. You'll
be able to choose from a wide array of non-stop arts and cultural
events, from home-grown theatre groups and galleries to the San
Francisco Ballet.
Our
campus is a garden spot — beautifully landscaped and lush, located
in the exciting small city of Berkeley. Where else could you choose
to eat your lunch either in a nearby restaurant, or next to a babbling
brook under willows, or in an historic old-growth Eucalyptus Grove,
or a sculpture garden, and then visit a unique, bustling shopping
area, art galleries and museums, or hit the Recreational
Sports Facility for a quick workout, or join the exuberance
of Sproul Plaza full of students?

Virtual Tour. To get a sense of the campus layout, check out
